eGENTING wins
the 2004 Premier Information Technology Award

The Online Transaction Engine (for
www.genting.com.my) developed and managed by Genting Information
Knowledge Enterprise Sdn Bhd (GIKE), a member of the eGENTING Group, was awarded the prestigious
Premier Information Technology Award for the Private
Sector category by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri
Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on December 10, 2004.This award was introduced in 1999 to
acknowledge and honour local organisations that have
demonstrated excellence in the effective usage and
implementation of ICT.
The award is jointly organised by the Malaysian Administrative
Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) of the Prime
Minister’s Department and the Co-operation of the Association of
the Computer and Multimedia Industry of Malaysia (PIKOM).
The objectives of the award are:
To promote and enhance the use of ICT in
organisations, as an enabling tool to increase organisational
performance, effectiveness and productivity;
To give recognition to organisations for their
efforts, initiatives and investments in ICT, and has
successfully benefited from the usage of ICT;
To profile and publicise successful ICT
implementations; and
To encourage healthy competition among
organisations with respect to the usage of ICT to improve the
quality of service.
