Casino de Genting at Genting Highlands Resort,
Malaysia was awarded the Asia/Pacific's Leading Casino
Resort by the World Travel Awards during the 8th
Annual World Awards Gala Ceremony held at Shangri-la
Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 10th April, 2001.
Casino de Genting was selected for the award by the
travel agents around the world, registering votes online
at the official World Travel Awards Voting site on
www.worldtravelawards.com.
Other nominees for the
award in this regional category were Mandarin Oriental
Macau, Burswood International Resort Casino, Perth, Hotel
Lisboa, Macau and Sheraton Townsville Hotel & Casino,
Townsville. The fundamental criteria for nomination

respect), innovation, distinctiveness and coverage.
