Morocco

In Morocco, the division owns 75% of the Ras Juby Offshore Permit via Genting Oil Morocco Limited (“GOML”). GOML is the operator of the permit, while state oil company ONHYM holds the remaining 25% interest. This permit is 2,000 square kilometres in area and lies immediately offshore of Tarfaya on the Atlantic coast of Morocco. The Ras Juby Offshore Permit was signed in 2006.

In 2007, a 3D seismic survey of 510 square kilometres covering the Cap Juby Heavy Oil Discovery was processed and interpreted. Studies are underway to determine the Cap Juby oil-in-place volume and reservoir characteristics so that a decision on appraisal drilling can be made in 2008.
