ENHANCING WORKPLACE PRACTICES

Genting Berhad is committed to respecting locally and internationally recognised human rights across its operations and value chain, as well as to fostering a safe, inclusive and respectful workplace.

Human rights and labour standards are embedded within the Group’s governance, enterprise risk management framework and core business processes.

The day to day implementation and monitoring responsibilities are integrated across key functions, with clear functional ownership and oversight. These include Human Resources (workforce rights, fair wages, non discrimination, recruitment practices and grievance handling); Procurement and Supply Chain through Heads of Departments (supplier due diligence, labour standards compliance and corrective action plans); Risk Management (risk assessment and monitoring) and Sustainability (coordination and reporting disclosures).

Genting Berhad’s expectations are set out in its Human Rights Policy and Code of Ethics, which are publicly available on its corporate website. These expectations are communicated to and apply to its employees, business partners and suppliers across the value chain.

As part of its risk assessment processes, Genting Berhad conducts regular reviews and proactively assesses human rights impacts on an ongoing basis. Identified risks are managed through documented mitigation measures, stakeholder engagement and integration into business operations and decision-making processes.

Accessible grievance and whistleblowing mechanisms are available to both internal and external stakeholders, with safeguards to ensure confidentiality, anonymity and protection against retaliation. These mechanisms support the transparent identification, escalation and remediation of potential concerns.

Genting Berhad has implemented measures to identify, assess and manage labour related risks across its operations and supply chain, underpinned by a zero tolerance approach to child labour, forced labour and human trafficking. The implementation is supported through strict recruitment age and identity verification procedures, compliance with applicable labour laws, and the application of ethical employment and supplier standards across the workforce and value chain.

To promote fair and decent working conditions, Genting Berhad supports responsible working hours, complies with statutory minimum wage requirements, and promotes fair and living wages in line with applicable labour laws and industry expectations. Mitigation measures including overtime controls, workload management and flexible work arrangements, are implemented where appropriate to reduce the risk of excessive working hours.

The Company respects freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining, as practised across its operations. Established mechanisms enable employee representatives and legally recognised labour unions to engage in regular and constructive dialogue with management, supporting the transparent identification, escalation and resolution of workers’ concerns.

These commitments are embedded within the Human Rights Policy and Supplier Code of Conduct, and are supported by audits, training programmes, supplier due diligence processes and confidential grievance mechanisms. In 2024, Genting Berhad reported zero substantiated cases of child labour, forced labour or major labour rights non compliance, reflecting effective oversight and implementation.

In addition, Genting Berhad addresses global health challenges, including non communicable diseases, through employee wellness and mental health programmes, alongside healthcare support, dementia care initiatives and health focused community investments across the communities in which it operates.
